A bill tied to the budget that would have required the Army Corps of Engineers maintain high water levels in Lake Okeechobee and held hostage funding for a massive reservoir project has had those portions taken out of it. But the overall bill remains, and those against it, including Gov. DeSantis, must remain vigilant and guard against that language returning in budget negotiations between the House and Senate.
